It All Started Today

Today in the capital of my country Nigeria, young people from all backgrounds and all works of life, put a hold on thier needs and selfish desires and thier ability to run wild and free without a care in the world to focus on the needs of their people.

Today it was one voice, one goal, one desire, to say "enough is enough" to the injustice going on amongst our leaders, to the unlawful killing of women and children in Jos, to the poor electricity supply and shortage of fuel, in a country that lives on it as a major export item, today it was all about showing the government that we are not going to sit back anymore and let them disgrace us, and limit our future through their own mistakes.

From their comfort zone, they fled, with trembling a shocked expression, they are awake they thought to themselves, they have realized their power, they have come together irrespective of their backgrounds and ethnic diversity.........yes we have.

Today we broke through armed men, through baricades, through all obstacles, we feared nothing and no one, but our future, for we know that without a change our generation and those to come would not enjoy the true benefits of democracy.

Today we made them fear us, we made them know we are awake, today we made them know that thier days are number, today we marked the end of all schemes and lies, today we made them sweat, today we made them doubt, today we reminded them that we put them there and we can take them out, today they realized that their faith is on our hand.

Although they fled like a prey, we let them go, we let them run and hide, we let them take time out to reconsider, cause the next time they see us they would not be able to run, there will be no where to hide, and the will be no mercy, for disgrace and anguish would be the price of the unrepentant.

It all started today, today is the begining of thier end, and the birth of a new people,

Today we take over.......
